If you are contemplating whether you will be needing a wedding cake at all, think again. Having a wedding cake is a tradition, however, it also makes the wedding look complete with a celebratory cake cutting and eating ceremony for the bride and groom. Some tips on choosing your wedding cake is deciding on the venue whether indoor or outdoor, the number of guests attending your reception to determine the cake size, the cake flavour (one or more if multiple tiers), the wedding theme for decoration and your budget.
A simple carrot cake in white icing wrapped with a blue ribbon and topped with butterflies. Or a multi tier with lavish flowers and intricate details. It is all edible! Talk about value for money. You can even keep the butterflies and flowers to last forever.
If perhaps the traditional wedding cake is too boring, why not have fun with cupcakes or mini cakes? You can have more than one flavour, the size already apportioned for each guest so it saves time when serving, you can save on wastage from having too many leftovers and it will look so cool being displayed on your special day!
A cupcake or mini cake that is non conventional for a wedding that will be remembered. A twist that is more fun, casual and chic for the modern bride and groom.
If, however, the customary cake cutting ceremony is still required, you can top it off with a small cake for that purpose. A small cake at the top tier of the cupcake stand can be used for the cake cutting ceremony while the cupcakes or mini cakes on the bottom tiers are for your guests to help themselves.
